Definition
An optional extra fee, priced per compute unit, that makes a transaction more likely to be included quickly when the network is busy.
Why it matters
During congestion, transactions without a sensible priority fee can fail or stall, which users experience as a broken app. Good frontends estimate fees dynamically instead of hard-coding them.
What to check
- Ask how the frontend sets priority fees and compute unit limits.
